Hike Duration: 5 hours round trip Level: Moderate Early morning is the best time to start the way to Paro Takshang when it is cool weather, and easy to hike up the mountain. When you come to the exact viewpoint, you will see far up the mountain, the Paro Takshang Monastery is hugged to the cliff of the upper valley. It is 3120 meters above sea level. We believe so much that whatever we pray and wish for, is always blessed. You can also opt for the Horse ride till half of the hike to make the excursion even more enjoyable. LUNCH AT TAKTSHANG CAFETERIA After the hike to Taktshang and while returning back, stop for the lunch at Taktshang Cafeteria. Located face to face to the temple, it gives stunning view of the landscapes and the mountains surrounding the temple. Food served here comes in mixture of continental and Bhutanese. HOT STONE BATH After a tiring day, you will be taken for a traditional hot-stone bath. Usually, stones are collected from the riverside, then burnt with wood till it becomes red, and dip it into cold water to make it hot. Then on top of hot water, we add medical herbs which give a good smell and are said to be good for health. Everyone enjoys Hot Stone Bath which gives relaxation and good sleep. ARCHERY TRIAL It was a weapon that was once used to subdue the evils and demons by many gods and lamas in Bhutan and won the victory. Therefore it is said if you play archery the unseen spirits, and evils cannot harm us. With all important reasons, Archery is preserved as our National Game Get a chance to feel and play national sports while you are in Bhutan.
Note: Unveiling of Guru Rinpoche Thangka (Thongdrel) only Paro Tshechu is one of the most famous festivals in Bhutan. Throngs of people, travel from around the world and neighboring districts to participate in the festivity. On the last day of the celebration, a gigantic Thangkha (Thongdrel) of Guru Rinpoche will be displayed inside the Dzong. The Thongdrel will be displayed early in the morning and for a few hours only. It is believed that one can cleanse their own sins upon viewing the Thongdrel. TRANSFER FROM PARO TO THIMPHU Journey Duration: 1 hour (50 KM) EXPLORE THIMPHU CITY Thimphu city is the only capital city in the world without traffic lights. One of the iconic attractions is the man controlling the traffic with his hands in the middle of the city. Here you can see all kinds of Bhutanese products collected from other parts of Bhutan. You will also get imported products but you will never find Starbucks, Mcdonald, and KFC.
Let's take just few minutes drive to visit Thimphu Memorial Chorten. As soon as you are in front of Stupa, the ringing of golden bells from the air sounds melodies singing. And the four directions of Stupa is tied with iron chains by each lion on the ground so that Stupa remains prominently in the world. Visit the largest Buddha statue in Bhutan, a stunning 169-foot (51.5m) bronze figure gilded in gold, perched high on a hill overlooking Thimphu Valley. Visit the Institute of Zorig Chusum, where students train in Bhutan's 13 traditional arts and crafts, including painting, wood carving, and embroidery. Observe their skillful work and gain insight into Bhutan’s rich artistic heritage. Enjoy lunch at Simply Bhutan Restaurant, featuring authentic Bhutanese dishes like Ama Dashi (chillies and cheese) and hearty curries such as pa (pork or beef) and Kewa Dashi (potato cheese). These flavorful dishes offer a true taste of Bhutanese cuisine. Evening transfer to Punakha.
Hike Duration: 1 hours Level: Easy The day begins with a beautiful hike to the Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Stupa, which was built to remove negative forces and promote peace, stability, and harmony in the changing world. PICNIC LUNCH AT ZOMLINGTHANG Today’s lunch will be a picnic at Zomlingthang. We have tree shades, riverside, beautiful villages nearby, and a big ground VISIT PUNAKHA FORTRESS It is considered as one of the most beautiful fortresses in Bhutan. It majestically stands between the two rivers. The structure itself is a unique Bhutanese architecture and it is built on a land that resembles a sleeping elephant trunk. TRANSFER FROM PUNAKHA TO GANGTEY Journey Duration: 3 hours (73 KM)
Gangtey is a mysticism glacial valley with a vast slope. All around the area is carpeted with grass and shrubs. The valley is known for its natural beauty landscape and silent serenity. The refreshing breeze and the scene makes a beautiful combo hike. TRANSFER FROM GANGTEY VALLEY TO PARO Journey Duration: 5 hours (166 KM) LUNCH AT NOBDING TOWN This is a small village, where travellers halt for tea, breakfast, lunch and drinks. Though it is on the highway but we don't see much development. The houses are small and are clustered yet beautiful paintings are to be seen. WEAR BHUTANESE ATTIRE Every Nation has it's own way of uniquely preserved National Dress.
