Itinerary

WELCOME TO DELHI, INDIA Arrive at Delhi airport. Meeting and assistance on arrival. After lunch, proceed to half day sightseeing in New Delhi. QUTUB MINAR Qutab Minar is a soaring, 73 m-high tower of victory, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi' s last Hindu kingdom. The tower has five distinct storeys, each marked by a projecting balcony and tapers from a 15 m diameter at the base to just 2.5 m at the top. The first three storeys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth storeys are of marble and sandstone. HUMAYUN'S TOMB This tomb was built by the first and the chief consort of Mughal emperor, Bega Begum, who was also known as Haji Begum. She had then chosen a Persian architect, Mirak Mirza Ghiyas to design the tomb. Unfortunately, the architect Mirak Mirza Ghiyas died before the completion of the complex. Hence, son Sayyid Muhammad ibn Mirak Ghiyath Ud Din completed the work on his father’s architecture. The work on Humayun’s tomb had started in 1565 and was completed in 1572. The work on the tomb started 9 years after the death of Emperor Humayun.

India Gate, official name Delhi Memorial, originally called All-India War Memorial, monumental sandstone arch in New Delhi, dedicated to the troops of British India who died in wars fought between 1914 and 1919. India Gate, which is located at the eastern end of the Rajpath (formerly called the Kingsway), is about 138 feet (42 metres) in height. DRIVE PAST RED FORT The Red Fort or Lal Qila is a historic fort in Old Delhi, Delhi in India that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned construction of the Red Fort on 12 May 1638, when he decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi. JAMA MASJID The Masjid-i Jehan-Numa, commonly known as the Jama Masjid of Delhi, is one of the largest mosques in India. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656, and inaugurated by its first Imam, Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari. CHANDI CHOWK In the heart of Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk is a busy shopping area with markets full of spices, dried fruit, silver jewelry and vivid saris, while the narrow side streets are crowded with tiny shops selling essential oils, stationery and traditional Indian sweets. RAJGHAT Raj Ghat is a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi, India. Originally it was the name of a historic ghat of Old Delhi. Close to it, and east of Daryaganj was Raj Ghat Gate of the walled city, opening at Raj Ghat to the west bank of the Yamuna River. Later the memorial area was also called Raj Ghat. AMER FORT Amber Fort was constructed in 1592 AD by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar's army. Later it was expanded and renovated by Raja Jai Sigh. Situated at a distance of 11 km from the city, it carries the pride of Jaipur. Set amidst the hills and overlooking the Maota Lake, Amer Palace is the finest example of Indo-Islamic architecture. SHEESH MAHAL Sheesh Mahal is also known as the Mirror Palace. Gorgeous precious stones and glass, beautifully hand-crafted paintings make Sheesh Mahal a wonder. It is the most well-known and attractive feature of Amer Fort, constructed by Maharaja Man Singh in the 16th century. However, by 1727 AD, the construction had come to an end. In ancient times, the queen was not permitted to sleep outside. She desired to be able to see the stars while sleeping. As a result, the king asked his architects to design a mahal that would remedy the issue. The reflections of the candles in the glass ceiling mirror keep the space warm. CITY PALACE The second-largest palace of India that took nearly 3 centuries to complete, City Palace stands tall in the City of Lakes, Udaipur. This stunning piece of architectural creation is one of the most visited places in Rajasthan. It tells the history of the brave warriors of the Mewar kingdom and several generations that contributed to its construction, each adding a unique and breathtaking feature to it. JANTAR MANTAR Between 1724 and 1730 Maharajah Sawaii Jai Singh II of Jaipur constructed five astronomical observatories in northern India. The observatories, or "Jantar Mantars " as they are commonly known, incorporate multiple buildings of unique form, each with a specialized function for astronomical measurement. These structures with their striking combinations of geometric forms at large scale have captivated the attention of architects, artists, and art historians world wide, yet remain largely unknown to the general public. DRIVE PAST HAWA MAHAL The Hawa Mahal is a palace in the city of Jaipur, India. Built from red and pink sandstone, it is on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur. The structure was built in 1799 by the Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of the city of Jaipur, India. He was so inspired by the unique structure of Khetri Mahal that he built this grand and historical palace.

The Taj Mahal, is an Islamic ivory-white marble mausoleum on the right bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. SIKANDRA FORT The great and beautiful fort is located in the city of Agra and is 13 km from the Agra Fort, which is the last resting place of the Mughal emperor Akbar. It was built by Jahangir in the year 1605-1613, and it is established on 119 acres of grounds in Sikandra. It is named Sikandra after Sikander Lodhi. It consists of five stories. It is made up of red-colored sandstone and has beautiful architecture. It is also known as the crypt of Akbar. It has lovely gardens and is surrounded by a high wall so that animals and other unwanted people cannot enter without any Authorization.
